CHARLES JOHN WERLEY

Chuck graduated from Anacortes High School with the class of 1959. He went on to Western Washington University where he graduated after earning his BA degree. He married Sharon Lee Tubbs December 27, 1963 in Anacortes, Wash.  She survives him at the family home in Raymond. Together they had two children, a daughter, Janice Werley of Tacoma, and a son, Scott (Gretchen) Werley of Portland. Chuck is also survived by a brother, Keith (Cindi) Werley of Orting.

Mr. Werley taught at the Willapa Valley School district for 34 years. He retired in 1997. For 10 years, Chuck had also worked in Valdez, Alaska, doing quality control work for Peter Pan Seafood Co.

He was a member of the Willapa United Methodist Church, past president for the Willapa Harbor Lion’s Club, and was also a member of the Belles and Buoys R.V. Club. Chuck enjoyed camping and stamp collecting in his free time.

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday June 1, at the Willapa United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to the Willapa Ladies Aid, the Lions Club or Willapa Harbor Helping Hands, Willapa Harbor Hospice, Pancreatic Cancer Research or any charity C/O Sharon Werley, 601 Willapa Fourth Street, Raymond, WA 98577.
