Castle Rock City Council report

Cowlitz Valley Runners were granted permission to hold the Mountain Mania Run/Walk in Castle Rock on July 27. The race benefits The American Cancer Relay For Life, beginning and finishing at the Lion's Pride Park in downtown Castle Rock.

Hotel-Motel tax revenues, which fund the Castle Rock Exhibit Hall at 147 Front Ave., were reported down over the past several years. Rather than laying people off, the Castle Rock Exhibit Hall Society, joined by the Chamber of Commerce, will step in to help cover costs.

Other matters included a Transportation Benefit District Board meeting scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 24.

The meeting was brief, running only about 30 minutes.
