Starting Beekeeping classes are being offered for free by the Willapa River Beekeeping Club and the Willapa Valley Grange.
A series of three classes will be held at the Grange building at 290 Camp One Road on February 8, March 8, and April 12 from 10 a.m. until about 2:30 p.m. , with a mid-day break for a brown-bag lunch.
In each class you will learn the basics of hobby beekeeping, and get advice and guidance from local beekeepers on the kind of honeybees, equipment, protective clothing, and other items you will need to become a beekeeper yourself. The focus will be on how to properly care for your honey bees, as well as the hive management practices needed to be a successful hobby beekeeper.
