Jeffery Allen Oberg, 63, was charged with third-degree assault (domestic violence) and third-degree malicious mischief (domestic violence).
The Lewis County Sheriff's Office responded to an assault call from the 200 block of Ray Road in Toledo at 1:25 pm on Monday May 30.
Oberg told deputies that his nephew trespassed onto the property. He said that his nephew grabbed his shirt causing Oberg to fight back. According to court documents, Oberg claims to have struck his nephew several times.
When deputies contacted the alleged victim, a 28-year-old man, he relayed a different story of the incident.
The nephew said that he and his wife were going to visit his mother and driving down the driveway towards the residence. After noticing Oberg's tractor blocking the driveway, the nephew attempted to turn around. Oberg confronted them using the tractor's bucket attachment to lift the car off the ground according to court documents.
After causing about $400 in damage to the 1994 Accura Integra Oberg lowered the car. Oberg then confronted the nephew by grapping him around the neck and striking him. According to court documents a cellphone video confirmed the nephew's report.
The court set Oberg's bail at $10,000.
