Let’s talk about other-than-the-house homes. In other words, living in other situations beside the family home or apartment. Places like AL’s and AFH’s — just some of the acronyms we toss around and sometimes expect folks to automatically get.

As an avid newspaper reader and independent political thinker, I read Letters to the Editor that express well thought out opinions and ideas concerning our community. Therefore, I eagerly read Mr. Gauger’s letter (Herald, Feb. 26, 2014) recently with his endorsement of Lisa Ayers’ for reelection – that is, until I got to the line regarding “wannabes with promises”.

Willapa Harbor Helping Hands is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and conducts meetings on the first Wednesday of the month at 6 p.m. The public is welcome.
