Annual Fruit Crisp Benefit at First Lutheran Church

Assorted Fruit Crisps a la Mode will be served from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm on Sunday, September 6, at First Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall.

Rhubarb, apple, peach a limited number of berry crisps will be available. This year cherry crisp will be added, due to the shortage of berries. This event continues to be part of the Labor Day activities in South Bend.
Orders for pans of assorted pieces or whole .pans of crisp may be placed by calling 875-5123. Crisps may be picked up on Saturday or Sunday.
Proceeds from the Fruit Crisp Benefit, a Thrivent Financial Matching Funds event, will be distributed to Friends of the Library, the Raymond Theatre, Holiday Store, Sunday Afternoon Live and Legacy Community Outreach (food bank).
A Grilled Tuna Dinner benefiting Helping Hands sponsored by Thrivent, First Lutheran Church, will be served from 4:30 to 6:30 pm on September 11 at First Lutheran Church. Scott McDougall will be the chef. Included in the dinner will be cole slaw, Gardner's herb dinner rolls and apple crisp ala mode. A limited number of grilled chicken breasts will be available.

The cost is $15 for adults and children under 10, $6. Please call 942 2910 for tickets, or e-mail Tickets will also be available at Sagen's, South Bend Pharmacy or may be available at the door.
