While there they earned five silver medals and two gold medals for their STAR events.

The gold medal team of Amber Anderson and Claire Borg will represent Washington State at the FCCLA national leadership conference this July in Washington, DC. Their Focus on Children project taught Willapa Elementary first graders about our environment and the three R's of recycling.

Emilee and Hallee Layman spread the word about the Behind the Badge Foundation with their Illustrated Talk. Sixth graders, Chloe Konigsberger, Ellie Sliva and Cami Swartz presented a Chapter Service Project Display on their Mad Hatter's Tea Party at the Alder House in February.

Claire Borg and Amber Anderson will be selling 12-inch apple, cherry, strawberry-rhubarb and triple-berry pies for $10 each to earn money for the trip to Washington D.C. The pies are frozen and can be purchased ahead for Memorial Day, graduation, or the Fourth of July events. They will also be selling Memorial Day crosses for $8.50 that have been made by the students. Contact the school or call 942-3275 or 208-3313 to place your order.
