The Winlock True Value Hardware store has been part of Winlock since 1948 when Glen Cook's parents, Frank and Irene Cook, bought the business from Lowry and Cornelison and changed the name to Winlock Hardware. In the 1960's True Value was formed and shortly thereafter they bought Northern Hardware.
Since 1948 the Winlock Hardware store has supplied many in the area with everything from that hard to replace sink washer to larger things like fencing and chicken feed. Chances are you don't need to run to the city for what you are looking for, it's right here in Winlock.
Glen Cook, who now owns the hardware store is very knowledgeable in what you need. You never know just what he might find to help you fix that one item that you just can't seem to get working. He has a large inventory for a small town hardware.
Even though they have moved from their original location, the location they have now is divided into two different buildings. A lot of the pipes and items needed to fix your home are in the building across from the new location. The hardware store is a like a candy store for grown ups, there is nothing you can't find there. It's fun to look around and see the different things they have to offer.
If you are looking for Christmas presents for your family, chances are you will find it at Winlock True Value Hardware. They have a large assortment of Radio Flyer items which includes tricycles and wagons. He also offers household items such as microwave ovens to beautiful decorated bowls and plates and for that man in your life who wants a beautiful stainless steel gas grill, you will find it at the here.
Glen Cook has also been a part of the hardware store since he was very young, he is the type of business owner that will help you even if it means "jerry rigging" something to work until the part comes in.
Glen has been a part of Winlock. He was Mayor from January 2010 through December 2013 and is still active in the community, attending every city council meeting. Glen has helped many in the community over the years and he continues to do so throughout the year.
