As we wind down 2014, New Years resolutions are what we all agree to do. There is the usual to quit smoking, lose weight and eat right. I decided this year I would work on procrastination. I procrastinate on everything as my Editor and husband will agree to. I have been a procrastinator all of my life, I have no idea why but that is just what I have always done so this year I vow to do it as soon as I get around to it!!
Congrats to Viola Chickese for being given the 2014 Mayor/Council Appreciation Award for her contributions to the community. Thanks, Viola, for all your hard work!

Winlock Schools are back on Jan. 5. I remember going back to school after Christmas break. It always seemed as though we wore the new outfit we got at Christmas and we couldn't help but talk about everything we did through the break. A lot of times we had snow so it was always the talk of where we went sledding, how many snowmen we made and all the trips to town. One thing we did every Christmas was visit my Grandmother in Seattle. We would love to drive downtown to see the Christmas decorations in the windows and see all the lights. As I got older and eventually moved to Seattle, it was a tradition I continued. I would call up my friends and usually pack a few in and we would drive downtown and go out to eat somewhere. It was an experience I truly missed this year but I vow as one of my New Years resolutions to start this tradition back up!!
