The Area Agency on Aging will be making a presentation Friday at the Olequa Senior Center. They will be there for the lunch hour, starting at noon. Later that same day, the center will be hosting their monthly Potato Bar from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The cost of a generous baked potato with a wide array of toppings to choose from is $7.
Also, I’d like to give another shout-out to the senior center’s craft group. I’ve actually been attending their weekly get-togethers on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to noon, and they’re an amazing group. I would highly recommend that any crafter (particularly with yarn craft expertise) join in, and beginners are very welcome. For more information, please contact the center at (360) 785-4325.
On Wednesday, June 5, Evaline Elementary’s band students will be performing their end of the year recital. The music is all set to begin at 1 p.m., and the public is welcome.
For all the Winlock Middle and High School athletes, I’d like to remind you that you need to take your physical in order to play in the fall. For the minimal cost of $20, you can receive your sports physical at the Valley View Health Center, which is located at 615 Cemetery Road on either June 4 or 11 (both Tuesdays). Please sign up at the high school office for your appointment.
Then, for the high school seniors, hang on. You’re almost there. In preparation for the graduations that are just around the corner, Winlock High School will be hosting a Senior Scholarship & Award Night on Wednesday, June 5, at 7 p.m. Baccalaureate Services will be preceding this event at 6 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. For information on these or similar end-of-the-year events, please contact the high school office at 785-3537.
