The Winlock Lioness Club would like to thank the citizens of Winlock for their support of their Thanksgiving and Christmas projects. The projects provided 20+ boxed dinners to families in the area and 65 children were given clothing and age appropriate toys. The Lioness Club has done an excellent job helping our children and their families during the holiday season and I for one am very grateful for their hard work. The Lioness Club also wanted to thank Raleigh Stone and the IGA employee's for helping them achieve their goals. Thank you to everyone for making this past holiday season a true joy for many families.
The Winlock Lioness Club is having their Annual Valentines Bake Sale on Saturday at IGA Cedar Village. It begins at 9 a.m. and goes until around 1:30 p.m., or until all the goodies are gone. Donations will be accepted and all the proceeds go back in to helping our little community. Please stop by and buy a few items or donate if your New Years resolution is to lose weight, the money goes to a great cause and remember; every penny counts!
I received a call from the Winolequa Senior Center that all but 2 or 3 of the Valentines Day Dinner Dance tickets are sold, so you may not be able to get them at the door. If you have any questions, please feel free to give the center a call at (360) 785-4325.
The Senior Center is getting some new classes going so for those of you who like arts and crafts type fun these new classes are for you. There will be a one-time class on Friday for learning how to make cards. The class starts at 1 p.m. and all supplies are provided for you. All classes are reasonable in costs so feel free to call the center to find out the cost prior to attending.
They also will have a Watercolor painting class for everyone from beginners to experienced, this will start next month, so be on the lookout in the future.
Last but definitely not least will be a quilt making class. This will be on March 25 at 1:30 p.m., please bring your own supplies. For the cost on any of these classes, please give the Senior Center a call at (360) 785-4325. Another important reminder, all classes are open to the public, you do not have to be a senior to attend. Stop by and enjoy some artsy time with your neighbors.
Valentines Day is this weekend and I think it's just as important for us women to remember our men as our men remember us! I waited until I was 44 years old to get married for the first time and my husband knows that Valentines Day isn't just about the love we have for each other; it's also about the commitment we have to one another. So, don't forget to let your loved ones know today is a special day for both of you!!
