A new scrap metal sculpture is on display in Toledo—the latest in a series of artworks crafted and contributed by local residents Victoria and Ron Smith. Installed May 31 during vision:Toledo’s annual Cleanup Day, the sculpture of a large salmon is located at the intersection of Cowlitz St. and 3rd St., and joins many other smaller sculptures located around town. More of Ron Smith’s work can be seen at www.rrrelics.com.

Volunteers Di Morgan (left) and Mike Morgan (right) add the final touches on the display June 17, including succulent plants below the sculpture intended to survive with little maintenance under roadside conditions. More about these and other community improvement projects can be found at www.visiontoledo.org.
