In the first quarter the game was looking like a tough call as to who was going to pull ahead right up to the last minute of the quarter. Raymond was dominating the rebounds, and was having success in three-pointers, giving the lady Vikings a hard time. The Vikings were able to keep up somewhat until at the end of the quarter the Lady Gulls pulled forward with another three pointer by number 10, Karlee Freeman. In the last minute of the quarter things were looking down for Valley as it looked as if they would have to give the three point lead to Raymond, when Karli Friese was able to get a shot off, and then receive a foul and make one foul shot to tie the score at 12-12 going out of the first quarter.
The outlook of the game changed instantly. Despite the tie up, Raymond still carried their ferocity into the second quarter, gaining a four point score by halftime, the score sat at 23-19 in the Gulls' favor.
Valley regrouped in the third quarter. Coming out of halftime, Valley raised the bar a notch, catching Raymond off guard and taking their lead back. Valley paid a little more attention to their defense in the last half of the game, only allowing Raymond nine points in the third quarter, Willapa Valley took double that, with 18 of their own points.
Going into the fourth quarter the score was 37-32, the lady Vikings with the five-point lead. The fourth quarter was played as an even match, Raymond scored 11 points and Valley scored 13. With the lead carrying over from the third quarter, the 13 points that Valley scored in the fourth quarter were enough to secure them a win, bringing the score to a close 50-40 in the Vikings' favor.
