After graduating high school, she earned her LPN license at Grays Harbor College, and then traveled to Seattle and worked there for eight years. Franks applied to the University of Washington Medex Northwest Physicians Assistant training program in 1990, was accepted, and graduated in 1992. She is board certified by the NCCPA in Family Practice/Primary Care.
Franks's first job as a Physician Assistant was at a family practice clinic in Copalis Beach. After a year, she transferred to Aberdeen to an urgent care center. She then moved to Spokane in 1994, and has been working for Family Health Center, a Columbia Medical Associates clinic, in all aspect of health care for the last 20 years.
Franks has two children, 15-year-old twins that now attend Willapa Valley High School. They have been very busy getting moved in and trying to sell their house in Spokane. She will try to keep fitness as one of her priorities and once she is established, will get back into full-time training. Her other interest, having rode horses forever as a child, will at some point get back into that as well.
Please help Willapa Harbor Hospital and Pacific Family Health Center in welcoming Franks to the community. She is ready to take care of all patients and available at the clinic from 8 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Thursday and 8 am to noon on Friday; call 875-5579 for an appointment.
