Yeah! Back to school fair had approximately 60 children in attendance. Fun, food, games, bounce house and free back to school supplies. Event was sponsored by the Vader Assembly of God Church and the Vader Lions Club. What a great end of summer event .

Bus stop locations to be announced.

Steve from the Park Board needs 6 people on September 12 to move the back board located at the old school site to McMurphy Park. This is the city wide clean up day so plan to help so the park board can take this off their "to do list".

Ok you get ready to go, tire is low, no air compressor...no problem, head down to Mt. St. Helens Grocery , they have an air machine. Fifty cents later and your back on the road.

We are a community with an identity. At exit 59 is a privately owned herd of buffalo/bison. Travel about two miles out of Vader and meet " Ben" the camel.

A Bald Eagle swooped down in front of the car for road kill last month not to forget the majestic elk herd that travels across the Winlock Vader road regularly . Only in Vader can you see these animals daily. Lucky us!

Presentation is everything when attracting new comers to Vader. If you live next to an abandoned or reposessed house and the grass and weeds are six feet high do what my friend does. She cuts and weeds the front of the property. Takes a little effort but when done her street looks alive. Two blocks in Vader right now has nine vacant houses on it.

Watch for Free Kids Bingo in September at the Winlock Community Building. Sponsored by the Winlock Lions Club. Lots of prizes and all kids are invited.

City council meetings are 2nd and 4th Thursdays at 6 pm. Remember if we all get involved our community will be the winner. Attend these meetings and see how you can help.
