A Blue Light...not a K-Mart Special - was seen in the sky Wednesday evening around 8:15 pm. A large blue cobalt sphere of light was seen at a high elevation East of the Vader Exit. It was moving slowly in different directions, a little red and white or silver appeared as it moved. We were so entranced with the object that we stopped along the frontage road, rolled down the window and watched it. After a few minutes we heard a helicopter about 5-7 sky miles coming toward us from the South. As it became louder, the object literally (and quickly) dropped from the sky toward the ground, or behind the trees. We instantly thought a plane had crashed. But, as soon as the helicopter passed north along I-5, the blue light reappeared barely visible above the trees for a few minutes, then finally disappeared. Did anyone else see it?
Another reminder to be good neighbors - If you see or hear something suspicious at your neighbors, please call them to make all is well, report it if necessary. Be cautious, be safe

The Vader Citizens League hosted an open forum for the new Parks Board held at City Hall Feb. 12 to discuss the Parks Board’s 2013 goals for both Werden and McMurphy Parks. In attendance were two representatives from the County Cruiser's Car Club, along with the Vader Citizens League members. The main concern was finishing Werden Park ground covering under the present swings and preparing a well thought out plan for more play ground equipment. Presently, they are working to connect electricity to McMurphy Park. The next Park Board Meeting will be March 18 at 6:00pm at City Hall. If you can volunteer hours to help, please contact Steve Krohn 295-3749. Let's give our children a place to play and something to do, summer is right around the corner.
CERT classes will be held March 12-14 (Friday - Sunday) through Thurston County Emergency Management. Interested? Call Liz at 200-5909 for more information.
Spelling errors! Yes, I'm human...my fingers sometimes miss a key and strike another changing the word meaning completely! A funny one was an announcement for the Masons holding a Crab feed...uh, the "p" was punched instead of the "b"...the rest is up to your imagination! Have a good Week!
