After a beautiful week of spring-like weather, the rain and wind returned with a vengeance. The Pineapple Express that hit over the weekend brought us nearly 3 inches of rain and more is promised for this week. If it means more available water during the summer dry spell, I guess I won't complain... too much...

The next Ryderwood Town-Wide Garage Sale will be the end of next month, April 24 & 25. With so many new households, there should be a larger selection than ever. (Many will have brought too much or not enough when they moved...) It is a great opportunity to "re-home" some things that are no longer needed or desired. For those not wishing to host their own, goods can be donated to the Women's Club for their big sale. The town's veterans' groups (we have both AMVETs and VFW Posts!) will host lunch in Community Hall.

Friday night's dinner at the Café will feature Linda's Slow-Cooked Pork Loin. As usual, a Beverage, Salad and Dessert are always included for $9. Reservations are required and need to be made by 6 p.m. Wednesday - Call Linda at (360) 295-0875.

Saturday night will be the monthly Town Potluck at 5 p.m. followed by the Social Club meeting at 6; both in Community Hall. The Potluck is a great way to enjoy a great meal with nearly no preparation. Bring a little "somethin'-somethin'" to share and enjoy an evening of fun, food and fellowship.

Monday has our aforementioned veterans' groups meeting in Community Hall - AMVETS at 11 a.m. and VFW at 11:30 a.m. These groups do incredible things for our little Town. Thanks, guys!

Monday has burgers and homemade soups at the Café from 4 to 6 p.m. The burgers - beef, chicken or veggie - are cooked to perfection and served with all the trimmings, including grilled onions if desired. Last week, there were 3 separate couples that made the drive out to the end of the road to enjoy the delicious burgers.

Tuesday's Senior Nutrition meal will be BBQ Beef Sandwiches with Potato Salad, Baked Beans and Fruit. For a $3 donation, the meals are a real bargain for those over 60 years of age. Call me at (360) 295-3813 or (360) 355-7315 to make or break reservations.

Have a great week!
