The 13th annual local fight against cancer, better known as the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Willapa Bay takes place Friday and Saturday at the Raymond High School track and field facility.
This year’s theme is, “RELAYWOOD: Where a star is born and a cure if found!”
Denise Rowlett and Angela Silvernail are the co-chairpersons for this year’s Relay for Life.
The Relay For Life in Willapa Harbor is more than just earning money to fight back against cancer; it’s a chance to meet with friends and pitch a tent and grill some good food. There fun for kids, too. Some of the fun events for the kids are BINGO, a Mummy Wrap, Temporary Tatoos, Relay Races, a Scavenger Hunt, and a Balloon Toss.
Participants can receive a Prize Patrol ticket for participating in themed laps and other activities at the Relay. The more you participate, the better your chances are to win. There will be four separate drawings, including survivor, adult, kid, and midnight owl. The winners will be announced at the closing ceremonies. You must be present to win.
