The Seagulls continue with their winning ways taking the North Beach boys 68-59 on December 18.
Hosting the Hyaks, the Seagulls were rapid fire keeping an edge over the visiting North Beach team. Quarter by quarter, the Seagulls were able to outpace the Hyaks by single digits as by having a host of players in double digits scoring. Leading the group of Seagulls, Elliott Murdock hit 14 points with support from Kason Koski and Rayce Newman at 13 a piece. Also breaking into double digits were James Hamilton and Landon Maneman with 10.
In this game, which was tied at the half, it seemed that the percentage shooting ability from the foul line made the difference as Koski went 7 for 7 in the final period from the line.
As a team, the Seagulls shot 66 percent above the paint while only shooting 35 percent. Comparatively the Hyaks shot 43 percent from the line and equaled Raymond from the floor.
The Seagulls will be part of the Holiday Classic featuring teams such as Rainier, Ocosta and Lake Quinault starting on Dec. 29. North Beach will host Holidays with the Hyaks Dec. 26 and 27.
To open up the New Year, Raymond will travel to South Bend and take on the Indians on Saturday, Jan. 3; tip-off is scheduled for 7 pm.
