The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission wants the public to know that Tuesday, August 25 is a state parks "free day." Day use visitors will not need a Discover Pass to visit state parks.
The Student Needs Assistance Program or SNAP will be at the South Shore mall on August 28 from 10am to 2pm, and at the Elma Senior Center on August 26 from 9am to 11am.
The Grays Harbor Pride Festival will be held this upcoming weekend, August 22. There will be regular vendors, free kid's entertainment, music, beer gardens and food as well.
Aberdeen residents are to start getting a separate bill from LeMay Enterprises Inc. All garbage will be billed by the contractor that's performing the service. Billing rates will stay the same during the transition, and will be negotiated just like they have been in the past.
Anglers will be allowed to keep two Chinook salmon daily beginning Saturday, August 15 in ocean waters off of Westport, and in addition anglers can keep one Chinook per day while fishing off of Marine area 4 on August 14 and 15.
