"We had a long road trip and we came out strong and started playing hard from the get-go," Raymond HS Head Volleyball Coach Bob Swogger told the Herald. "Like in the Tacoma Baptist match, almost everyone got to play and contributed in a positive way towards the win. We are a balanced team and everyone had a good night."
Last Tuesday (Oct. 21), The Lady Seagulls defeated Tacoma Baptist at Seagull Gym.
"We played very well against them and did a good job of serving, passing, and attacking," Coach Swogger said. "We have done much better at keeping our mental focus during matches and have minimized the little mistakes."
Raymond hosted Ocosta Monday on Senior Night. The Lady Gulls visit Ilwaco tonight.
Willapa Valley 3,
North Beach 2

"We faced a North Beach team that played really well and hit the ball hard throughout the night," Willapa Valley HS Head Volleyball Coach Lori Snodgrass told the Herald. "We came out a bit flat and didn't really find our groove until midway through game two. We ended up dropping the first two games 19-25 and 21-25. In the third game and for the rest of the night, we set up our hitters consistently and won 25-11, 25-16, 15-5.
"Brooke Spoor led the team at the net with 9 kills," Coach Snodgrass said. "Karli Friese and Madison Huber led the team defensively with their passing, and Alicia Smaciarz did a nice job stepping in to serve."
NW Christian 3,
Willapa Valley 0
Last Tuesday (Oct. 21) Willapa Valley hosted Northwest Christian and lost in three games, 25-17, 25-19, 25-14.
"We spent most of the night trying to defend their hard hits and never really got a chance to hit the ball ourselves," Coach Snodgrass said.
Willapa Valley closed out the regular season Monday night with a home match versus South Bend.
