Fresh out of the election time, Lewis County Fire District welcomes Jerry Craft as a new commissioner.
Although this is his first political position, Craft has served as a volunteer fireman and has served as a supervisor for the county. When asked about how he came into this job he stated that he "signed up to be on the ballot and most people in the community know who I am so I didn't have to do much campaigning."
When asked if he had any goals for the area, he had a great response. "I want to make sure we're wisely spending the tax payer's money." As well as seeing that the money is spent towards good purposes, he hopes to be able to get more volunteers to help in firefighting.
After being asked if there was any comment he would like to leave, he said "I would like to see the public attend more meetings. The people's tax money is being spent and they should want to know how it is being spent."
With these great goals to reach for, we can't wait to see what the future brings.
