Helping Harbor Helping Hands

Willapa Harbor Helping Hands is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and conducts meetings on the first Wednesday of the month at 6 p.m. The public is welcome. Willapa Harbor Helping Hand is a local non-profit organization serving and helping support residents currently undergoing treatment for cancer. For more information, call 875-5550. The office is located in the LeMaster Building at 500 Robert Bush Dr., South Bend.

American Legion Potluck

The American Legion Raymond Post # 150 meets the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 7 p.m. A potluck dinner, beginning at 6:15 p.m. precedes the first meeting. The legion auxiliary also meets at 7 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month.

Pilots Association Meets

First Wednesday Monthly

The Willapa Harbor Pilots Association (WHPA) meets the first Wednesday of each month at 5 p.m. The group welcomes new members to its meetings. For location of the next meeting call 942-7899.

Lewis-Pacific Swiss

Society Board

The Lewis-Pacific Swiss Society Board of Directors to meet at the Swiss Hall every second Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. Members are welcome to attend.

Grief Support Group

A Harbors Home Health & Hospice facilitated Grief Support Group will meet every Wednesday from 3-4 p.m. at the Raymond Timberland Library. For more information call 800-772-1319.

Pacific Transit’s Quarterly Board Meeting

The Pacific Transit Authority Board will hold its regular quarterly Board meeting Thursday April 11. The meeting will be held at the Pacific County Commissioner’s Meeting Room at 1216 W. Robert Bush Dr., South Bend at 10:30am. The public is invited to come and be heard.

 

Square Dancing

Lessons on Thursday

Swing her 'round and 'round! New square dance lessons are being held on Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of the Willapa Valley Grange at 290 Camp One Road, Raymond. All ages are welcome and you don't need to bring a partner. Habitat for Humanity

The Habitat for Humanity of Willapa Harbor Board of Directors meetings will be on the fourth Thursday of the month; Meetings take place on Thursdays at the offices of Elizabeth Penoyar, located at 504 W. Robert Bush Drive in South Bend. The meeting starts at 7 p.m.

P.O.O.L. Meetings

P.O.O.L. conducts monthly meetings on the fourth Thursday each month at 5 p.m. at Raymond City Hall. Anyone interested in the operation of the Dr. O. R. Nevitt Swimming Pool is invited to attend.

Gavel Masonic Lodge #48

Neighborhood Watch

Neighborhood Watch meets at 7 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month at Janine Saul’s home. Please call 942-5358 for directions. Everyone interested in establishing a Neighborhood Watch in his or her area is encouraged to attend.  Change begins in and near our homes, so please join us as we strive to create safer neighborhoods.

South Bend Head Start

The South Bend Head Start Preschool Monthly Enrollment Meeting takes place on the fourth Tuesday and Thursday of Every Month at 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the South Bend Head Start Preschool. Food Bank

The Willapa Harbor Ministerial Association Food Bank, located on the corner of Larch Street and Park Avenue in Raymond, is generally open to serve those in need every Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Commodities are offered on the second and third Thursdays. Alcoholic’s Anonymous

Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are set for Thursdays at 7-8 p.m. in the downstairs at the South Bend United Methodist Church located at 125 Street.

There is also farm fresh seasonal produce. Also available years around is local farm fresh eggs, gourmet jams, jellies, honey, dips, dressings, seafood products, baked goodies, coffee products and other condiments. There is also creative jewelry with special orders welcomed, garden art, photography, clothing, hats and quillows, birdhouses, pottery, goat milk soap, hand woven items, and woodcraft. Free travel information is available. Watch for our upcoming Spring Event.

“Choose Life”

Support Group

The New Beginnings Wesleyan Church, 2nd and Ellis streets in Raymond, is holding its “Choose Life” program on Friday nights from 6:30-8 p.m. This program is a Christ-centered support group coordinated to help drug and alcohol addictions, eating disorders, spiritual crisis, or even if you have a Biblical question that you’re seeking answers about. An Alcoholics Anonymous support group is held every Friday at 8 p.m. at the Shoalwater Bay Tribal Center in Tokeland. These meetings are non-smoking.

Willapa Harbor Chamber

of Commerce Meeting

The Willapa Harbor Chamber of Commerce meets once a month on the second Monday of every month at noon at the Willapa Harbor Community Center, located at First and Alder Streets, in South Bend. Chamber members, business owners and civic groups are urged to attend these meetings and contribute to the growing economy of the Willapa Harbor area.

Free Legal Clinic

for Seniors

The Senior Legal Assistance Clinic (SLAC) meets the third Monday each month between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Offered are free 30-minute sessions with an attorney for clients 60 years or older. Appointments must be scheduled in advance. Call Information & Assistance at 360-942-2177.

Back Country Horsemen

Willapa Hills Back Country Horsemen will be meeting the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the back entrance to the PUD building. 

Saddle Club Meets Mondays

Pacific Post #968

The Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Pacific Post #968 will meet on the second Tuesday of each month. A potluck luncheon at 1 p.m., and business meeting to follow, at the Post home at 203 Duryea St.

TOPS Meets Tuesdays

The local chapter of TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meets every Tuesday morning at the United Church of Raymond. Weigh-in is from 9-9:45 followed by the business meeting and a program designed to encourage weight loss. Visitors are always welcome.

“Baby Play Group”

The “Baby Play Group” for babies under 2 and their caregivers takes place on Tuesdays at 11:30 a.m. at the Raymond Timberland Library.
