This year the 101 Public House, Elixir Coffee, Tea and Flowers along with Valerie's Salon is organizing the annual Boat Parade and are looking for more participants.
"If people want to get involved with a boat or to be a vendor, all they need to do is give us a call," said Val Rowe of Valerie's Salon.
The boat parade lineup is scheduled at 5:30 pm, and will launch as soon as the boats are organized, running between Coast Oyster and South Bend Products Cannery. Santa is scheduled to disembark at 6 pm, will greet the kids and light a tree outside of the 101 Public House. Santa will then be available for photos and to listen to wish-lists from the kids and might possibly have a sack full of small gifts for each child visiting him.
As the kids and parents are waiting for their turn to visit Santa, families are invited to have a seat at the Christmas Craft Table and make a unique Christmas card.
Holiday drink specials will be available at Elixir, the 101 Public House will be offering Holiday food specials along with the gift shop holding a 25 percent off sale for those unique items.
A fire pit will be staged outside to keep your hands warm as you watch the parade and visit the vendors located inside at the 101 Public House. There will be music and carolers at the event, along with a large amount of holiday cheer. And bring an ornament to help decorate the Community Christmas Tree in the Elixir lounge.
If you wish to be part of the festivities as a boat in the parade or a vendor, you still have time to get involved. Vendors should call Amiee Ward at 550-6273; Boaters should call Val Rowe at 942-7422.
Bring in the holiday with a South Bend twist on Christmas.
