Coming to Raymond as part of nine free public concerts the Equus Saxophone Quartet will appear at the Raymond Theatre on September 13.
The concert is scheduled for 2 pm.
Founded in 2013, the Equus Saxophone Quartet is composed of four dynamic soloists who study with Fred Winkler at Western Washington University. Equus is an active supporter of contemporary music in the Pacific Northwest, not only working with local composers to premiere new works, but also engaging local audiences through community performances. Equus was named winner of the 2014 Washington State and 2015 Northwest Division MTNA Chamber Winds Competitions; second place in the 2014 Frances Walton Competition (Ladies Musical Club of Seattle); and finalists of the Friends of Chamber Music (Vancouver, BC) Young
Chamber Music Players Competition and 2014 and 2015 MTNA Chamber Winds National Competitions.
The Equus Saxaphone Quartet is: Soren Hamm, soprano saxophone; Matt Birmingham, alto saxophone; David Hoogkamer, tenor saxophone; and David Decker, baritone saxophone.
