Each year the PCEDC contacts various organizations within Pacific County to receive their selected Business of the Year and bring together the businesses of Pacific County celebrating their successes, according to PCEDC Director Cathy Russ.
Security State Bank’s President Dwayne Aberle sponsored this year’s event and the Lady Elks for preparing the event with wonderful food.
The business recipients of the “2012 Businesses of the Year” were Peninsula Sanitation, selected by the Ilwaco Merchant’s Association and the Ilwaco Harbor Village Association; Dennis Company, selected by the Long Beach Merchant’s Association; Doc’s Tavern, selected by the Ocean Park Area Chamber of Commerce; Raymond Federal Bank, selected by the Willapa Harbor Chamber of Commerce; Viking Bowl, selected by the Tokeland/North Cove Chamber of Commerce; Pacific Eye Clinic, selected by the Pacific County EDC-North Board; and Bell Buoy Crab Co., selected by the Pacific County EDC-South Board.
The evening began with the crowd enjoying appetizers and enjoying conversation amongst each other. Randy Dennis, the 2012-2013 president of the PCEDC, opened the evening welcoming approximately 70 attendees.
“It is with great pleasure that we recognize these businesses for their significant contributions to the overall economy of Pacific County,” Dennis said. These businesses contribute many important services, unfailing community support, and makes “shopping locally” a pleasure.
Dennis introduced Toni Williams, Assistant Vice President with Security State Bank, who then made the presentation of awards, and thanking each of them for their contributions to the community.
