Local resident and community leader Georgia Cox served as Grand Marshall during the Castle Rock Fair Parade Thursday evening. Cox works with the Castle Rock Senior Center and was named Volunteer of the year by the Sunnyside Grange in April.

Fair Superintendent and Poultry Judge Chester O’Brien gives a tutorial to students who brought their chickens to the fair on Saturday. O’Brien said young farmers hoping to compete at the county—and potentially even the state—level need to know the ins and outs of showing poultry, adding so many local students are interested in other livestock such as sheep, cows and swine they are often not given the finer points of poultry showmanship in school.
